Totally knackered. Cheer 2009 was good. Performances by local artists are currently ongoing (updates via StarBrats and StarRAge on Twitter)

Anyways, the day started of with all of us, Nadine, Nel, Mas, Denise, Khairi and moi, meeting up at KTM Subang around 9. Took us approx 30 mins to get to KL Sentral. Upon meeting Anir, Khairi immediately went ‘he looks like me o.o’ same coloured top, pants and shoes. Bought tickets for LRT, and had to transit at another train station to get all the way to Bukit Jalil. In total we spent about 2 hours. Had loads of funneh moments on the train. Of jail’s and body odours :P Twas definitely an adventure.

Met up with other SriKLians at the indoor stadium. The event was hosted by veteran host Jien (of Disney Buzz fame) who has been doing so for the past 9 or 10 years and Jeremy of RedFM, the newcomer and an upcoming radio DJ in the Klang Valley. and may I say, boy were they cute ! although Jeremy was the better looking out of the two (for me). Signs of fatigue were as clear as water on Jien’s face. Maybe age is getting to him ? Other than that, the competition was sponsored by HL milk, Silkygirl, The Star R.Age , 8tv and the Ministry of Sports & Education.

Watched a few performances before changing into my BRats t-shirt and reporting for duty. Honestly, I felt pretty useless because I was that clueless, and the only person that I really knew was Sandra, other than the professional journalists who also work at The Star, like Niki and Ian. Was given access to the restricted zone and the room labeled Secretariat (I swear this word reminds me of the League of Nations and United Nations, History deii) Seeing all that equipment brought me back to May 2008, when I first attended the BRats camp in Penang. Good times (:

Helped update the Star BRats Twitter account and assisted in other small areas. In between Sandra and I took part in this faux competition, as all we had to do was ‘dance’ to Thriller and immediately we both won a bag of Silkygirl products each. Well us and 8 others. It was entertaining (: Besides the games, the crowd was entertained twice by the professional cheerleader’s cum judges ; Tye Hill from Total Cheerleading (one of the TOP cheerleader’s and tumbler’s in the world) and that other guy, who’s name I don’t even know, think divalicous :P

Altogether 41 cheerleading teams took part, some being all boys teams and majority, girls. Of course there were the favourite’s like Dynamitez, Blitzers, Titans, Pirates, Shirtlift, Calyx, Stunnerz etc etc . Was pretty confident that (1)Blitzers of SMK Bandar Utama Damansara (4) would win, because I personally found their performance to be completely dynamic, energetic, polished and refreshing. In other words, they delivered and true enough they were the overall champions, as they were a clear 39 points ahead of the first runner up winner, (2)SMK Seri Bintang Utara’s Shirtlift, who were then followed by (3)SMJK Katholik’s Calyx (they bagged 3 other awards in diff categories) who were 0.6 points behind the first runner up.

Really regret not being involved enough in BRats and I wish I’d stayed on longer so that I would’ve been able to do a report on the winner’s of the competition. Tried interviewing Calyx and at the same time obtain their routine songs CD just for Adriz, but I felt so intimidated by the 8tv reporters who were standing directly behind me, and who were obviously waiting for their turn. To make matters worse, these people were the exact same crew who came to Sri KL about a month back to interview Kila and I, and one of them even recognized me (or was pondering about where he’d seen me before) so I felt extremely pressurised. I’m worse than an amateur okaaay !!

But to tell you the truth, today reignited my interest in pursuing journalism as a career, and not a hobby. & that I’m more confident about what I want to take up in college. I know I said that I wasn’t that involved, but I’ve never been the kind of person who takes giant leaps, small steps are the way to go for me.

THANK GOD, Mas’s parents agreed to pick us up. Couldn’t imagine wasting another 2 hours enduring the suicidal train ride and endless transits just to get back home. We were stuck in a traffic jam for approx half an hour. Chatted the minutes away with Nadine and Mas about anything and everything. We even talked about gigantic hickies on people’s necks HINT HINT ;P  His parents are still the bomb lah ! :D

Can’t wait to do everything again next year ! I had a good time.

ohmylord, I feel like drink a whole carton HL Marigold Milk, it tastes like vanilla :P
Coincidentally my parents recently switched milk brands from Gooday to HL low fat.

on an unrelated note, the presense of the Indian/Bangladeshi/Nepalese guards in my condo has been expectedly discouraging. It’s like Egypt all over again, being treated like they’ve never seen a girl in their whole entire lives -_- I wish I could dig out their eyeballs. This is not discrimination btw.

& I still can’t believe that Michael Jackson is gone, dead, finnito. I mean, he still feels very much alive to me as he was before. He lives through his songs no doubt.

okaylah, I go first YAH !

au revoir.
